Dijon

This 1930s house, located in the heart of Dijon, underwent a complete renovation aimed at creating a harmonious dialogue between the existing structure and a contemporary style. A wooden extension was added to accommodate a new living room, which opens onto the garden, swimming pool, and mature trees, creating a natural continuity between indoors and outdoors. The kitchen has been moved to the center of the main room and is now organized around a central island, designed as a place for socializing and sharing. The opening of a load-bearing wall allows for fluid circulation between the original house and the extension. The old access to the cellar has been closed off by installing a wooden floor on jacks, making the space easier to use on a daily basis. A custom-built laundry room completes the layout. The entire project is part of a quest to strike a balance between the character of the old and the simplicity of the modern, creating a coherent, bright home that opens onto the garden.
